Book Cover Design

This project was to redesign an existing book cover. I chose the novel Jasper Jones. I went for more of a minimal approach. 

 

I hand made a stamp, which is the tree, and scanned it into my computer before digitally editing it to make it look like it’s been cut out from paper. I made the tree the salient image with a noose to provide a little hint into what the book may be based around without giving anything away.

 

Drawing from the original cover I used an orange colour but made it darker to allude to the colour of the dust in outback Australia where it is based.
