We Fell Asleep

This project was to create a visual book, I based mine on a poem called ‘We Fell Asleep’ written by Harronn Rashid. 

 

Using watercolour paint and artline pen I drew Images which reflected each sentence of the poem to tell the story. After painting and outlining each drawing, I scanned them into the computer and digitally edited them slightly and added the text. I used in-design to place and layout the book.

This poem has many meanings the original intention was to evoke emotions regarding losing a loved one. During covid however Rashid wrote a few more lines relevant to the current circumstances. I wanted to create illustrations that had childlike feeling to them but also depicted what was going on in each line.
